1802 DRAPED BUST DOLLAR. (JS46) - 1802/1 DRAPED BUST DOLLAR GORGEOUS PCGS VF-30 RARITY 3. Variety B-4 BB-232 Close Date. With a very low Estimated Population of 350-450 examples and a Rarity 3 this specimen is for the connoisseur and variety collector. By the PCGS Population Report, only 6 coins have been graded with this variety and only 3 with higher grades, all being AU. Very clear the "1" touching the curl and the "8" high and tipped a bit to the right. A choice VF with a lovely dark steel/gray patina, free of any detracting marks. The hair details show ¾ and yet the drapery is nice enough to be an EF. A superb and classical overdate, demonstrating extreme sharpness in the "2 over 1."
